Blog~ Etsy~ FurAffinity~ Twitter~ Zazzle~ Facebook~ Prints, mugs, buttons, etc... available on Zazzle.finished version, i might go back and fix a few things but for now i think its done i had to add some more flowers after looking at it and realising how much the colorful wyvern stood out from everything else... so some of the flowers that dont show up in the lineart are painted with acrylics not as much shading as i would have liked, but i was a little scared to mess with the shadows on the wyvern too much for fear of ruining it anyways lineart for coloring: [link] |

Looking from the lineart to this and back again, it's awesome how you've managed to add in the extra flowers like that! I would never have noticed that they weren't there from the beginning, they look so natural. As a whole, the scene is lovely, with the dainty dragon, lush foliage, and pretty flowers all about. Incredible job with the detailing! I'm enamored by the various shapes and colors of flowers, as well as the marvelous texture of the mossy limb, articulated by both the lineart and painted coloring. Lush and cushy and wonderful!
The wyvern's anatomy looks right on!
Another thing I really like is the meticulous shadow-work. The light is subtle but all of the shadows are present and accounted for! Awesome how they follow the shapes of the item casting the light so well, and are suitably pale rather than starkly dark. It's really fitting and adds a ton of depth to the piece.
Fabulous work! Truly! This is an astonishing piece, from the concept to the coloration to the details and beyond. Thank you for posting it for us all to see.
i agree that the main part of the wing membranes aren't shaded as much as i would have liked, but i tried to do it earlier and it looked terrible so i had to scrub it off with a paintbrush

Peachfuzz pretty much nailed it here. The flowers you added really help fill the branch out, so it's not looking as barren as before. The extra shading also helps tome it down a bit cuz, as I mentioned when you showed me the WIP, the color was bright! O__O
The only thing I don't like is the mountains. Although they aren't the main focus, they seem rather flat. I like that misty element at the bottom and would like to see more of it if possible, but I am also talking outta my ass cuz I don't know how. LoL
Glad to see you getting back into the coloring groove.
