if anyone has any information on getting prints made and pricing them out, i'd really appreciate any information. i'm going to a convention in a couple days and i've never sold or made prints before so i have no idea what i'm doing.

some of my stuff's saved to a flash drive, either because i don't have the original any more or because i wanted to compile a few smaller ACEOs/bookmarks onto a couple sheets, i dont know if there's a certain mode or file type they need to be in or anything like that.

the best file types to have are .pdf and .tiff or .jpeg, some places charge for anything other than .pdf, but .pdf can be a lot of trouble sometimes. i suggest making a .pdf and a .tiff of everything to be safe.

The only time I sold prints, I sold them for 10$ maximum. Others were $5 and $3 (depends on the size and amount of detail and how desireable the print is). You have to keep in mind that the convention people are cheep, so keep prices reasonable. Even a professional illustrator was selling his prints for $10.
Convention goes though, aren't picky, so you can easily set up a sketch pad and pencil at start drawing anything and most likely someone will want to buy it. Drawing at the convention and selling what you draw is a good idea, plus even the action of drawing will draw people in. Always have a trust worthy person there to help as well; there's nothing like having to pee really badly and having noone to watch your booth while you're gone. Also, encourage people to buy in bulk (3 or more prints) and give a certain discount for the more prints they buy.
The content, surprisingly, doesn't matter muc. If the convention goesrs think it's cool..they will buy it, whether it's anime or not.
Other than that, do what the above guy said.

A computer is a tool; it will not make your drawings look better. You put crap into the computer and you will get crap back out--

thanks for the tips

I've heard somewhere before that it was best to keep the prices pretty low so i made some fairly cheap prints today. some turned out pretty nice, others not so much. but it's a learning experience, and even if i don't sell some of them maybe i can give them away, lol.

=gambitgirl and I are going together, so we'll be able to watch each other's tables while we take potty breaks.

i know i'm going to at least make the ACEOs available as sets, i'll see if i can come up with any other sort of deals to encourage people to buy more.
